We have always been wanting to make the best snooker game on android and itunes. (yep lofty goals but hey you gotta dream big!) After a prolonged development from scratch, we finally decided to put out our Snooker game on the itunes store in February 2016 and titled it Maximum Break (as an ode to the amount of effort put in!) We had really put everything into it but were still not entirely happy with it...still, the constraints of time mean that we have to put something out and then ferret away at making it better...so we let it out to set sail!
Shortly afterwards, we began our port to android and had it done pretty quick but just a couple of days after release got a rude shock when the app was suspended for plagiarism by Google! (we were supposedly aping our own game on itunes!) After a successful appeal and subsequent reinstatement, we were finally on track on android by the end of March 2016. The snooker android app on Play Store had to be titled differently - Snooker Knockout Tournament - owing to the suspension - and perhaps it wasn't a bad thing after all since the name was probably more indicative of the game features!
This blog is all about the difficulties we have faced and how we are trying to make things better for our players all the time. Our goal is to be the best snooker game out there with unique, engaging modes, that we are slowly working on adding to the game. The good thing is that the app has stayed on course - still in the top 20 worldwide for the search keyword "snooker" using purely organic growth. It hasn't had as many downloads but the start seems reasonably encouraging. Will we be able to achieve what we have set out to do? I will list out everything that we try out, as we try out and hopefully by the end of it all, we will have a very happy community of gamers out there!
We would love to hear from all the awesome dedicated players out there as to what they would like to be added to the game, and you can be sure we will do our best to do so.
